My mom at our table at the Harrowsmith Church Fall Fair. She sewed the beautiful bunting and made the pin and chalkboards. The rest is an assortment of vintage and her good friend Susan's goat milk fudge.

I said, "Oh, I should take a picture of this cute calf." My dad promptly began cleaning her nose. The result is this sweet photo.

I picked roses 28 October, 1927
-- Margaret Campbell
Written out like a recipe on the first page of her Purity Flour Cookbook. A recipe perhaps difficult to repeat for this part of the world, where frost can come early and without warning.
My mom's batch of black currant jelly.
My crusty, whole wheat bread.
A reminder that each season is conditional -- what outlasts its time is somehow made more beautiful because of it.
